In Yarra Reflections, Josephine Muntz Adams captures a tranquil bend of Melbourne’s trademark river, dappled with shifting light and the soft sway of a willow. Painted with expressive brushwork and a vibrant, almost tactile surface, it reflects her sensitivity to place and mood.

Yarra Reflections was shown as part of Josephine’s retrospective exhibition at the Athenaeum Gallery in 1943.

A gentle study of light, water and willow.
