Painted during Josephine Muntz Adams’ travels in England, Reflections, Polperro captures the gentle rhythm of life in the Cornish fishing village of Polperro.
Her restrained palette of greys, greens and muted blues evokes the cool, misty air of the harbour, while the rippling reflections lend movement and depth to an otherwise still moment.
This landscape was exhibited as part of Josephine’s retrospective exhibition at the Athenaeum Gallery in 1943.
