Low Tide, Irish Coast is one of several paintings depicting St Anne’s Church, Killough, near where Josephine’s father was born.

It was first exhibited in 1907 as part of the seminal ‘Australian Exhibition of Women’s Work’ at the Royal Exhibition Centre, Melbourne. A centenary celebration of this exhibition, ‘Portrait of an Exhibition’, was held by the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum in 2007.

It was also shown as part of Josephine’s retrospective exhibition at the Sedon Galleries in 1945.
